Queens have had a great start to the season, we are still unbeaten in the league and the 2 cups. :D
A tough set of fixtures coming up though. Its Alba cup QF day at Dingwall on Sunday then next Saturday we are also back up there on league business (we are going up on Friday and staying for 2 nights). We then have Dundee at Palmerston then the CIS 3rd round tie against Rangers before a trip to Dunfermline.
Pissed off that I will have to give up my seat in the main stand to go onto the terracing against the Huns as I can only get 1 ticket as a season ticket holder and sponsor ( can get standing tickets ok). Giving Rangers the whole of our East stand which I dont think is right as I feel our own supporters should come first.
Anyway think we can get revenge for our narrow Scottish cup final defeat last year. :)

Unbeaten til 2 defeats against Ross County Stuart...

I was quite impressed by them when we went up in August. Could have a good season. Airdrie and Ayr look set to struggle.

Aberdeen are rotten, I just cannot believe how bad they are. 4-3-3 players cant handle, players that look off the pace a month into the season and dont get me started on Young, Mackie and co...

Well we are back at the top of the league, good wins over Dundee and Dunfermline. We have Morton at Palmerston tommorow, this will be atough game as they always do well down here.
Just hope we are still top of the league when we head to Inverness next Saturday.....and with some extra Aberdeenshire support hopefully we can come away with a win. :D :P

Well last week we got a 6 goal thriller at Station Park, Forfar when Niall, Nicola and myself went down. Having done my ankle in the previous night it was doubtful i would make it but I soldiered on.

Forrar took complete control in the opening 30 minutes and could have been 3 up but missed chances. Elgin equalised and in the last minute of the half took the lead. Forfar then went 3-2 up before Elgin came back again and with almost the last kick of the game Forfar hit the post from 25 yards out and the game ended 3-3.

Great stuff and a really nice little stadium. Forfar did us proud by allowing the pregnant and injured to get a seat in the stand :D

Hopefully next week will be good too. Doug and I are getting the 8.15 train out of Aberdeen and arrive in Inverness at 10.40am. Plenty time for beer

A great day out at Inverness which saw us go top with a 3-1 win. The next week we lost at Kirkcaldy to Raith Rovers in a game we should have won, we fell down to 5th but 2 home wins over Airdrie and Ross County by 3-0 and 2-0 scores have taken us back to the summit.
We will be taking a decent away support to Ayr on Saturday and I feel we will be too strong for the bottom club and will still be top on Sat night. :D

Well we are still top of the league following a 1-0 win at Ayr.
Its now a top of the table clash at Dens on Saturday but we have nothing to lose and I think that Scumdee will get a real fright in this one.
Money is available for new players in January and the ground can be upgraded to SPL standard by 31 March ( what a joke that is !!) so I feel we can still challenge for the title this season. We have done well so far with such a young side.......................All players under 23 years old except for Lilley.Kean and Holmes on Saturday.

Just back from a weekend in Newcastle to see them take on Peterborough United. Friday was wall to wall beerage between 10am and 2am.

Cracking day for the match. Asked the taxi driver to take us to strippers before the match and he took us to Sam Jacks pub in the centre of Newcastle. On arrival the place was empty but it was only 12pm and by 1pm the place was jumping.

The strippers entertained the crowd every 15 minutes or so, the tunes were jumping and there was a Newcastle fan doing some DJ work which largely revolved the slagging off of Mike Ashley with one of the signature tunes being "Get out of our club, get out of our club, you fat Cockney b*stard get out of our club" and chants about how bad Mike Ashley's sports shop is and other things. The hatred was clear to see.

One of the highlights of the day was when they got a Posh fan up on the stage to be rediculed and to take on the 4 pint challenge. First a pint of cream, then a pint of orange, then fizzy water then topped off by a pint of Guinness to be drunk in record time. After gentle ridicule about how fat the guy was he announced he was alergic to dairy products. The place was in uproar. DJ "Well ya fat c*nt, your certainly not alergic to KFC ya fat b*stard" UPROAR! So after a debate the DJ was like, "Look at him he is all ballooned up and thats just standing close to the cream!".

So a replacement was sought and his brother came up for more ridicule but managed the 4 pints without spewing which is apparently quite comon up on stage. He came up with a large camera on his chest and raincoat. DJ "What the f*ck have you come as, a f*cking Japanese tourist". Again the place was in uproar. Why oh why can this sort of place not exist in Aberdeen.

By 2.30pm it was time for the short wander up to the stadium and I would have to say its about the best I have been too. Absolutely massive, great atmosphere and plenty leg room in the cheap seats. The highlight of the 1st half was a mazy run by Gutierrez and a good finish as Newcastle quickily went 2-0 up and looked as though 6 or 7 was on the cards. Unfortunately they took the foot off the gas. A bottle of beer at 1/2 time and the game quickly finished 3-1 to Newcastle. Annoyed as that was my prediction all day but I failed to take the 9-1 on offer at Ladbrokes.

Next up we headed down to Shearer's which is a massive bar in one of the stands. Stayed there for a few hours with the 5 of us joined by a Geordie pal of one of my friends. Nice guy and able to tell us where to head in the city etc etc.

Spent most of our night in Blu Bamboo. Rude not to as it was £1.50 a Jaegar Bomb, nice! Niall and I missed a massive bar brawl later on, apparently it was like something from the wild west. We finished our night at about 2am in the hotel bar.

Classic weekend and Sam Jacks is the best pre match bar I have ever seen and likely ever will :D

Well done to the Real Salt Lake team on winning the Eastern Conference last night beating Chicago Fire in a penalty shootout and advancing to play David Beckham's LA Galaxy team in next Sunday's MLS Cup Final.

Good luck to them.

Scotland, I cant even begin to describe how annoyed I am. Manager and captain clueless about where it went wrong and a player apparently telling Chick Young that they should not be playing friendlies.

Great result for Real Salt Lake last night beating David Beckham's LA Galaxy 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. MLS champions :D

Javy, will we see the first game back in SLC as champions in April I wonder....

Saturday was a trip to Kirkcaldy and free tickets to see Raith v Ayr. As we got tickets from big Kevin James for the match we were supporting Ayr but in the Raith end. We had set off for Kirkcaldy on the 9.45 train and stopped in Dundee for a pint and then caught the train down to Fife meeting a friend in Kirkcaldy.

The game itself was pretty dire with two pretty poor teams lacking quality. Big Kev marshalled the Ayr defense pretty well.

After the game we headed 100 yards down the road to the nearest bar we could find then a taxi to Styx for a heap of games of pool and a nip per game bought by the looser. I only lost twice so came away drunk and still with money in the pocket.

Train home, another drink in Dundee and then on to Aberdeen and back in town at 10pm and a couple beers in my local to finish the night. Another great day out.

Well thats 2 home games in a row that have been postponed ! :(
Firstly because of waterlogging v Dunfermline and today because of frost v Raith ( we have covers but they only work down to -5C) :(

I said a few weeks ago that I thought Dundee would win the league and it is beginning to look pretty likely. Cant see anyone stopping them now.

Aberdeen were a shambles again yesterday.

A decent game at Palmerston this afternoon but unbeleivable that it ended 1-1.
Queens were superb today and should have been 5 up at half time but for excellent keeping from former Scotland No 1 Rab Douglas.
Lilley gave away a penalty after 3 minutes but the vastly overrated Gary Harkins wasted too much time in taking the kick and Davie Hutton dived to his left to make a fine save. Queens broke to the other end and snail paced Jim Laughlin hauled down Leon Knight just outside the box and Bob Harris fired home the free kick. We dominated the rest of the half but could not add to our lead and 12 minutes from the end it came back to haunt us when Griffiths had a weakish shot deflected by Bob Harris that beat Hutton at his near post.
The league aint over and Dundee are not a great team and Im sure we can close the gap on them between now and the end of April.
Heading up to Dunfermline next weekend ( a very tough match) then we have our bogey team Morton at Palmerston before we return to Inverness to face ICT and a few pints with Q. :) :)
Its then a home game with Partick before we leave for Canada the next day for a 3 week road trip. :D

We got to Aviemore yesterday when the Ref eventually decided to call the game off. A waste of money both to QOS and the fans. We had 2 buses and the club had an overnight stay to pay for after being told yesterday that there would be no problems.
Had a few beers in the Cairngorm Hotel before we headed back to Dumfries. We arrived home at 5.30pm. A long day.
I had been looking forward to a few beers with Q as well. :(

Yes, very disappointing altho Doug and I still had a great day out playing pool and seeing a few new pubs. Did not have a phone reception for huge periods of the day which was a pain.

The barman in the bar where we were all meant to meet said it was -9c through the night so I guess that was too cold for the system. I cant help but feel though that frost was expected and surely the technology has been on the go long enough to be able to say the day before with reasonable authority that a pitch will be fine or otherwise. It did not look as though the frost had lifted up there in days.

The Raigmore where you were going must have lost a firtune too as they were expecting 68 fans I think he said. We put a few quid in the til drinking and had the best homemade burger in Inverness. Not often I agree with what something is described as but on this occasion they were spot on.

Home at midnight
