Snow At Big Bear Mountain Resorts - 3rd January 2006

Big Bear Lake, Calif., Tuesday, January 3, 2006 — On Monday, January 2, 2006, Mother Nature decided it was time to stop by Bear Mountain Resort (Bear Mountain) and Snow Summit Mountain Resort (Snow Summit) and drop more than six inches of fluffy, white snow! A fast-moving snowstorm blew into the Big Bear Valley and covered the resorts as well as the surrounding area with natural snow — the first time of the 2005/2006 season. Although the storm has now passed, snowmaking operations have continued to provide additional coverage and excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions on the trails at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.

“Right now we are experiencing the best conditions of the season!” stated Kim Hermon, Asst. Marketing Director for Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR). “We have great skiing and riding conditions and excellent coverage on the open runs providing a winter wonderland,” added Hermon.

Currently, Big Bear Mountain Resorts has 17 lifts operating as needed, including three top-to-bottom runs offering up to 1,300 vertical feet. There are also more than 84 terrain features including jumps, boxes and rails in the All-Mountain Freestyle Park of Bear Mountain and The Ridge at Snow Summit. Also at BBMR, one lift ticket gives you more skiable acres with a free inter-resort express shuttle service to take guests to and from both resorts.
