BBMR New Halfpipe - 20th January 2006
Big Bear Lake, Calif., Friday, January 20, 2006 In addition to opening
seven more runs in the last week, Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) is excited
to announce the opening of Bear Mountains halfpipe this Saturday, January
21st, 2006. Several days of around-the-clock snowmaking provided a large amount
of snow that has been concentrated in the halfpipe, just in time for Sundays
USASA contest.
Having the halfpipe open is perfect for all snowboarders and skiers looking
for more tranny in The Park at Bear Mountain, stated Marty Ward, PR Director
for BBMR. At 12 feet high, 55 feet wide and 400 feet long, its great
for beginners because its less intimidating than a superpipe, yet it is
still fun for advanced pipe riders, added Ward.
At Big Bear Mountain Resorts one lift ticket gives you access to more open terrain,
more lifts operating and more terrain features than any other Southern California
resort with a free shuttle running between the resorts! The resorts are operating
21 lifts as needed, including four high-speed quads accessing five top-to-bottom
runs and a variety of interconnecting trails for all ability levels. There are
now more than 80 terrain features in the All-Mountain Freestyle Park at Bear
with 7 jibs in The Scene. The Ridge at Snow Summit has 39 terrain features including
fun-sized features on Sundown in the Family Park!
